India should keep away from the ethnic conflict in the neighbouring island nation of Sri Lanka and not even help it with any kind of military help, as it would result in creating a crisis within, MDMK leader Vaiko has said.

Talking to newsmen on the sidelines of a protest meeting on the issue in Chennai, Vaiko said that India is being pulled unnecessarily into the peace process. “Norway started the initiative and they should continue it, India should only cooperate in this issue,” he said in this regard.

“Any military support would only result in war,” an emotionally involved Vaiko said that an end to the ethnic conflict within the island nation would soon be found.
